2024 AGE = 2016 BUT HER EMAILS. Trump is unhinged, drug infused, ready to literally murder and incarcerate anyone (including media) who speaks against him, and declare himself dictator. NYT, WashPo are creating a conflict where there isn't one. They did this with Hilary, look back to 2016, there were bogus health issues that were brought up by the same NYT and WashPo. For them, Trump Presidency means more ad sales and more subscriptions. It's about Clicks not reporting. Trump was implicated in Epstein sealed Grand Jury docs. He has sex with two 12 year old girls! Where's that reporting. Where's the reporting about 2025? Let's face it, media is controlled by .01% white men for whom Trump means they get to keep their billions.
Why is everyone ignoring the fact that Ohio Republicans tried to keep Biden off the ballot in their state in the first place? They had to pass special legislation because get this the official nomination at the Democratic national convention is AFTER their state deadline. If this insanely dangerous idea actually comes to pass how do people think we’re supposed to get this magically winning Dem candidate on the ballot in Ohio. Or any other state for that matter. We absolutely will not win if our candidate is not on every state ballot in November and the Heritage foundation is just salivating over the idea that they can defeat us like this.
Joe & Kamala are our team. Joe is on the ballot in all 50 states. Should the unthinkable happen we would be in VERY good hands with Harris. Isn’t that the whole reason we have VP’s? But maybe that’s what all this media hysteria is really about?
The NYT thinks they can bully Biden into quitting the race. They know Trump will ignore them. That's all this is -- that and Sulzberger's personal grudge that Biden won't sit for an interview with them.
Also, if Biden were to drop out, I really hope no one thinks the next four months of the New York Times's front page (and really, the coverage from the rest of our wealthy media class) would consist of anything but Hillary's-emails-level "investigations" of "How long did the White House keep Biden's unfitness from us -- I mean, the public? How much did Kamala Harris know? What major national decisions were made by someone besides Biden?" It will be relentless, especially once they've received proof their bullying works.
Honestly, the fact that we're even talking about this is why I call the Democrats my second-most-hated political party, even though I've been voting straight Democrat for 40 years.
I don’t know when this first started happening the “Democrats“ that I saw referenced where people like Andrew Yang, who abandoned us after his disastrous New York City mayors race, and created his own party with a bunch of disaffected Republicans now they’re talking about some Democrat in Texas we’ve never heard of & Jared Golden.
From what I’ve seen all of the top Democratic leadership DNC chairman Jamie Harrison, VP Harris, Senator Warnock, Governor Newsom, Nancy Pelosi, Governor Whitmer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries etc have all supported Biden publicly.
But all of these media articles are referencing some low level Democrat.
I have been asking, journalists, Podcasters, and various other people on five different platforms to address the issue of getting the shiny new candidate on the Ohio ballot and so far nobody has addressed it. Constitutional lawyer Jay posted about it. A few other people are starting to as well, but a lot of the media is just flat out ignoring the real threat were facing.
Thank you, Mark, for stating the case against Trump so succinctly: he is an existential threat, not just for this country, but for the entire world.
In light of that, the decision of the New York Times to immediately call for Biden to step aside is mind-blowingly irresponsible. Why, on the other hand, didn't the paper call for Trump to step aside after his torrent of lies during the so-called debate? For that matter, why hasn't the paper been posting banner headlines - and on a daily basis over the past four years - screaming out about the danger that Trump and his fascists cohorts pose to democracy? It makes you wonder what the paper's true objectives are. Is the publisher's real agenda simply to ensure that the bottom line will keep growing under a fascist regime?
The New York Times has lost every shred of credibility. And that is a crying shame when a free and unfettered press is needed, now more than ever.
The Times ran two stories this morning in which they misquoted Biden and reported that he admitted falling asleep on stage. Every other outlet I found quoted him as saying, with obvious sarcasm, "nearly fell asleep." Getting it wrong once is a mistake. Getting it wrong twice, by different reporters, stinks to high heaven. To have that level of "hearing what you wanted to hear" at a journal of that stature is beyond incompetent.
And now they have the breathless polling that Trump leads by 6 pts. First, I do not believe it, and second, this country is brain dead to have forgotten the chaos of his term, including 1/6. After fifty years and being a reader nearly every day, both buying the paper daily when I lived in NYC and as a digital subscriber from the platform’s inception, I finally cancelled my subscription after that awful editorial—especially because they never once editorialized that the twice-impeached convicted felon should step aside. Remember the Times has Maga Maggie, Trump’s “psychiatrist” and they did everything in their power (and still do) to make him sound sane and coherent. It’s a travesty.
Media is happily leading us into dictatorship. And they don’t care—they will outdo themselves to become his Pravda.
For another view of the SCOTUS decision, listen to a long-time civil libertarian who has been warning about the dangers of excess presidential power for years:
While you guys and I would vote for some hypothetical replacement, that person would be unknown to the vast majority of Americans, without sufficient money, staff or campaign organization to become known in such a short time frame. Biden dropping out hands the race to Trump. So I'm guessing he won't, and shame on the disgraceful NY Times for advocating for this w/o suggesting a 34 time felon also drop out.
I’m sick of hearing the excuse that Trump won’t listen to the NYT so that’s why they don’t call for him to drop out. That didn’t stop them from calling for Russia to withdraw from Ukraine even though of course Putin doesn’t give a sh*t what they think.
Thank you, Mark and Steven. Your impassioned pleas for support to Democracy is most welcome, and, urgent it seems. I’m a bit aghast at having to write such words now.
The world IS waiting for critical thinking, integrity, honesty, and strength of character to come to the fore here at this critical time. Will the people of this Country come through? I WANT to believe so. Sadly, my beliefs have had to be altered of late. I am Hopeful, all the same…
Opposing Trump as a potential right-wing dictator is one thing. Supporting Joe Biden by continuing to deny his obvious dementia and the majority opinion of most voters, including Democrats, that he does not have the mental and physical capacity needed to be President is another thing. Continuing to do the second is blind partisanship, not to mention journalistic malpractice, of the worst kind. If not reversed right away, it will only lead to a Biden loss and a Trump victory.
I hear you. Now, listen to me. Joe Biden is in fact in cognitive decline. Please, listen to Keith Obermann's podcast today, July 3, 2024 (and Pelosi as well as PodSaveAmerica) regarding Biden should resign/retire and hand the presidency over to VP Kamal Harris at this month's Democratic Convention. She will bring in more women, more women of color, more independents, more younger people such as my three children, ages 24, 26 and 31who continue to say he's too old. Again, listen to Keith's podcast where he makes the case. Throw the debate back to Trump is too old. (Harris is 19 years younger). She is an avid fighter for women's rights, esp regarding ROE as well as has the support of the majority of Democrats. PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES. We cannot lose this election because we are determined to let Joe run, again. The stakes are too high to take a chance. With Harris on the ticket she can utilize their war chest they've accumulated that NO OTHER candidate could.
PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES. Trump is in cognitive decline, not Biden. Harris is great but it's clear from what is happening in the media's targeted destruction of Biden in six days that they will destroy Harris too. In fact, they already have. We've had four years of coverage about what a bad VP she is and how she's doing nothing & they're unlikely to turn that around. You are right: we cannot lose this election. And only Biden can win it. He's running a pitch-perfect campaign with exactly the right messages — and the media won't amplify it, just like they won't talk about Trump's long-running and obvious cognitive decline.

There are far more Republicans who don’t want Trump than Democrats who don’t want Biden. The Times won’t tell you that.
I agree.

Sensationalist Trump is The Truman Show in reverse, and the unwitting maga crowd don’t realize it’s just another reality tv show.
The media continues to ‘lean in’ on trump for the clicks and the ratings.
Who won the debate? CNN and all the others who broadcasted it and took in millions of dollars. The people lost.
The NYT journalist are terrible. It's a tRump mouth piece
