Why are we, as a nation, faced with the real possibility of plunging headfirst into an abyss? Is there no common sense anymore, are there simply no guardrails? Why is this horrible specimen of humanity, this narcissistic sociopath and convicted felon, even allowed to run?
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had an agency to represent us, the people, and to enforce our laws without fear or favor? We could call it, say, the Department of Justice.
Politico’s coverage of Trump is equally as bad as the NY Times, WAPO, and most of the rest of corporate media, most of which I’ve stopped following, especially if they don’t allow for comments on their articles (WAPO is the primary exception).
I had always wanted to be a journalist but never had the opportunity to attend college to become one. If I had, I would be so disgusted with my chosen profession at this point. And I imagine trying to find a decent journalistic outlet at which to work would be challenging at best. Ugh!
Trump has often been described as "entertaining," and while he's far from a typical candidate, many Americans are drawn to his outlandish remarks and outright falsehoods, seeking entertainment rather than factual scrutiny. For those who feel left behind or fear the future, his theatrics offer a sense of relief or distraction. Progressives must acknowledge this dynamic. We need leaders who can captivate while also delivering substance—Obama excelled at this balance. Even the Harris campaign understands the power of entertainment, as shown by its strategic use of endorsements from celebrities and musicians to engage and energize voters. Balancing substance with appeal is crucial.
The democrats are not exactly innocents either. They just aren't as out there as Trump. I think he is a danger. But you never talk about how the government is supporting a genocide, how they want to censor the internet. I don't know if the department is defunct. But some one was hired to direct a department of misinformation. You talk about sane washing, the press sane washed every thing Israel does.
Being Jewish were lead to believe a lot of nonsense. I am 77 now, but have really learned a lot for the last few years. I would know a lot less if it wasn't for people like Chris Hedges, Abby Martin and others
I have learned a lot about growing up Jewish from members of my Israel-Palestine group. How they were encouraged to be uncritically supportive of Israel but taught little or nothing about Palestine before or after 1948. (The film ISRAELISM shows some of this.) It's helped me understand, e.g., AIPAC and its supporters better.

Yes 🙌
Why doesn't the press write about this? https://www.caitlinjohnst.one/p/israel-continues-its-war-on-journalism

You talk like someone who just caught on to how uncritical of Israel the U.S. has been since shortly after 1956.
