How tf is this happening when there have been so many moves to sway the people with misinformation and outright lies? Can we not impeach based on Trump threatening and misleading the people? Something he has consistently done for years? He manipulated his voters. At least some of them!
Because he can appropriate even things appropriated by congress and have complete immunity. If he doesn’t want to authorize, for instance money for California’s wildfires because CA didn’t do what he wanted, he can. Trying to destroy our democratic government! How are you not getting this??
The key is to frame Trump's actions as direct harm to average citizens, not abstract political processes (which I and others are guilty of). Instead of discussing the separation of powers, can opposition to Trump emphasize how his policies concentrate wealth and power away from everyday Americans.
Potential reframing strategies:
Can the opposition highlight specific ways Trump's policies transfer public resources to private interests? We can use concrete examples showing how wealthy individuals/corporations benefit at taxpayers' expense. We can use plain language that reveals their real-world impact on working families
Connect policy abstractions to tangible economic consequences so people can understand
The "deep state" rhetoric has yet to be successfully confronted by the Democrats. I ask others to explain that public institutions represent collective community investments - schools, infrastructure, healthcare, social services - not some mysterious bureaucratic enemy. The goal is making the government's role feel relatable and meaningful to people's lived experiences.
Messaging should focus on practical outcomes: Who wins? Who loses? How do these power shifts affect real people's economic security and opportunities?
Didnt Biden use impoundment to stop construction of the Border Wall? These funds were appropriated by congress and Biden stopped construction of it. Also, recess appointments are allowed by the Constitution, aren't they. Thats what Marian Wang argued in Propublica back in 2011.
So it will fail if one Republican in the House or 4 Republicans in the Senate believe in their own self importance and don't just blindly follow Trump.
And you are accusing Pelosi in particular of being bad at vote counting when she is a master at that if nothing else.

Martial Law. South Korea. Possible coup. Military involved. YouTube. The Enforcer
I have more trust in the district courts and blue state than I do a Trump federal government
They've all been greased or are scared. I have zero trust for America to protect us.
