I think you are missing the point here. Why is it only up to the assaulted individual to press charges? He broke the law by campaigning in section 60. Why isn't the DOJ or the military bringing charges?

Thank you for keeping the focus - and for encouraging the mainstream media to do so as well - upon the story of an odious, jackbooted thug marching over the bodies of fallen heroes in order to promote his own megalomaniacal agenda.

According to Heather Cox Richardson, the media was whiffing on this story entirely until Charlie Pierce of Esquire in a post questioned how Trump gained access to this hallowed ground. It's also another example of Trump committing such daily outrages that one gets glossed over when the new one emerges. Another media miss: On the NYT digital feed, a story was prefaced by writing that Donald Trump, "who frequently takes credit for overturning Roe v. Wade," is trying to reposition himself on reproductive choice. That should have read, "Donald Trump, who followed through on his promise to nominate Supreme Court judges who would overturn Roe v. Wade." That mealymouthed writing could imply Trump is once again taking credit for something he did not do. This journalistic cowardice is going on too long to be chalked up to mere carelessness.

Excellent, gentlemen. And the thing that could really keep the story on the front burner is if the media did its job with some good old-fashioned investigative journalism. It is absurd to accept at face value that these families contacted Trump and invited him to come to the gravesite on a particular day. How would an average citizen even get in touch with the campaign to orchestrate this thing, including the photographer and a videographer? It’s illogical. It is far more likely that Trump’s campaign henchman concocted the event and then contacted the families in order to have them participate. A bright light needs to explore the dark shadows of this shameful and shamful (sic) episode

And the other side is swift-boating Walz through intermediaries. How do you take care of a faux pas at Arlington? Accuse a 24-year command sergeant major in the National Guard of cowardice. Forget that your guy dodged the draft and called dead soldiers and someone who spent five years in the Hanoi Hilton losers. It's like a divorce lawyer. How bad do you want to make your soon-to-be-ex look in order to get the kids?

And then there's the accusations-- again through intermediaries, and make sure they're women -- that your opponent slept her way to the top. Everyone will forget your guy has the morals of a tomcat. Or just rely on the old double standard. He's a "playboy." She's something else.

This must be what Mr. Bannon referred to as flooding the zone with excrement.

Women in the photo were plainly making QAnon(?) white power etc hand signals in the "thumbs up" photo. I haven't heard anything about that or is it that behavior expected these days?

Thanks for this and please work with the Veterans who are also still actively pursuing this story. Fred Wellman on Twitter, with whom I think Mark and Steven are probably already familiar, has been dogged in keeping this story alive, and VoteVets. The MSM seems intent on letting it die as usual, so let's keep the MSM's feet to the fire by using your contacts in the media along with the cadre of Vets who are the standard-bearers here.

Thanks for keeping the focus on the true event. Looks like WAPO can be eliminated from actual journalism and added to the tRump propaganda machine.
