Mark nails the Fox machine. Two things get lost. One: right after losing to Angel Reese in the NCAA tournament, I understand Caitlin was asked if she felt disrespected by Angel's taunting. She said no — her only upset was losing. That's more class than her loudest defenders have shown since. Two: the flopping complaints cut both ways. Plenty of NBA players — Black and white — draw that same criticism. The NHL now penalizes it. Maybe the WNBA should too. But that's a basketball conversation. What MAGA wants is a racial one. Caitlin's too smart for that. She needs a Magic Johnson counterpart who can help her hold that line publicly.
Fox has to go overboard on this because they can’t talk about Trumps lawlessness or mental or physical health. So they create this outrages. I know you know this Mark, but so many others don’t. Thanks for pointing this out
I've been following the clickbait headlines in the media about the WNBA since the league started. It's a minor hobby. I don't watch many games though. Since the inception of the WNBA the billionaire media and the on-line trolls have been picking on the women, criticizing everything they do, how they live, every nuance of their lives. trying to stir things up. When Clark showed up it was a perfect opportunity for them to ramp up the trouble-making. The subtext of every media piece about the players in the WNBA is to undermine them, the league, and women in general. This is a long term project for the bigots. I feel bad for the women, they really are taking a media beating.
her fist glanced off clark's neck and the case could be made that Alyssa was trying to keep herself from falling on clark, who sure has a lot of trouble staying on her feet.
If your trying to prove a point that they are using her as a pawn that’s fair. But for you to downplay her as a basketball star is insane. Insane! It was a cheap shot and AT is known for her overly physical plays. She’s done it to black heterosexual basketball players as well (Angel Reese). Another “journalist” doing a piss poor job at actually putting out there what the real message is.
2 wrongs. No foul call on just a one game suspension. I only saw a photo. So it could be deceiving to what happened. I did not watch the game or see a replay. And what would you expect from Fox News?
The officiating in the WNBA leaves a lot to be desired in general. It’s very inconsistent. But the same could be said for the NBA, especially in the playoffs, where one minute they are calling touch fouls and the next they are letting two players wrestle like they were in a WWE cage match without calling anything. Is there some animus among the current players regarding the league’s promotion of Caitlin Clark? Yes there is, but I don’t think it has anything to do with race; I think it is more because she has only been in the league a few years and some think she’s not as good as advertised. Some of you may remember when Isaiah Thomas said that if Larry Bird was black he would be considered just another good player. His exact quote was, “Larry Bird is a very, very good basketball player. An exceptional talent. But if he were black, he'd be just another good guy." There was some uproar about it, but nothing like this. These right wing nut cases need to get a life.
Thank you for the article, Mark. Clark was violently assaulted on the basketball floor by a member of the other team. Yes she is being used as fodder by the media. This is unacceptable.
I'm sure Chuck Grassley, in particular, is right on top of what's going on in women's basketball.
I'll bet he can't even name one women's team.

This “journalist” missed the mark completely.
I have a very hard time imagining Sen Chuck Grassley watching a lot of WNBA games.
Or staying awake for 2 hours.

That's all they care about is victimizing white people or saying they're transgender. It's gotten so crazy.
Every success is exploited to divide us.
And the idiots who are the most irrationally outraged by the Clark incident usually add some slur about Brittney Greiner.
Oh. But it's fine and :All American" for cretinous josh hokit to slander and demean our former First Lady. fake fox thinks that's a hoot.

Umm, no
Fox, non-news, is likely scrambling for content. Probably desperate to deflect from all the blunders and losses by the failed Trmp administration

She’s a dude. Y’all need to wake up.

So it seems Clark's involuntarily being pushed into 'great white hope' status. She's going to need to stop that push from the bigots.
It is absolutely up to her to disavow herself from those maggots.
