You did perhaps overlook one that is on a lot of people's mind these days: the 25th amendment. Especially apropos for a POTUS who thought he was actually talking to a very dead Teddy Roosevelt.

Good point.

The 25th is on many minds, but I wonder how many have actually read it. With the "executive departments" headed by Trump/Republican toadies, Republicans in charge of both houses of Congress (at least officially), and the vice president a null set who may or may not be in thrall to a billionaire mentor, the prospects don't look good. However, if after January 3, 2027, the Dems are in charge of one or (here's hoping) both houses of Congress, things could get interesting -- especially if Schumer and Jeffries can be pushed aside.

It's chilling to see trump's predations against the Constitution listed this way. More so knowing it is just a small subset of his crimes. We will have a mighty job to right the boat once he is gone. When that glorious day arrives we will need to study his transgressions and create a road map of how to strengthen our laws and civil society against the raging pressure of a narcissistic madman.

We are presented with the shocking reality of a President who ignores most laws he doesn't like and has a Supreme Court enabling him. Joe Biden made the understandable blunder of thinking all we had to do was get rid or Trump and our democracy would return to normal. Clearly, when Democrats return to power, we must not just unravel Trump's atrocities. As Jamelle Bouie noted in the NYT, we need a major restructuring of federal law enforcement with mandatory penalties for violations of the Hatch Act, emoluments clause, etc. And whatever happened to Biden's committee examining restructuring the Supreme Court? It apparently wound up in the same trash can as Ken Martin's amateurish autopsy of the 2024 election. You can bet that Project 2025, Peter Thiel, Charles Koch and the other anti-Democracy scoundrels will view a Democratic win in 2028 as nothing more than a holding pattern while they plan to destroy what's left of our secular democracy.
