Thank you for including Kathleen Parker. On the face of it, some might think she doesn't belong with Owen, Watters, Musk, etc. But she represents the smug complacency of the establishment news media, that coddle, rationalize and normalize so much of Trump's behavior and actions, and perfectly encapsulates the MSM's total prostration to Trump and the Project 2025 agenda.

How did you have the discipline to stop at 25?

If a newsletter gets too long, it doesn't display in one file and the reader has to click again to get the rest of it. I always try to avoid that. Obviously, I could have listed 50 or 100.

Maher is a worthy inclusion. 🏆 He gives me the willies, and has for years.

I was hoping to see a posthumous award for Rush Limbaugh, who first blazed this trail of trash.

What, no Maria Bartiromo?!

Mark Jacob's avatar

That was an oversight. I post often on social media that NYU should be ashamed to have Bartiromo on its board of trustees.

I thought maybe you HAD included her, and then realized that she's really a just a cheerleader on Fox.....

Excellent. Thank you. Marc Thiessen didn't make it?

Mark Jacob's avatar

Thiessen missed the last cut. I even wrote an item about him ...

Marc Thiessen.

The Washington Post opinion writer has penned pieces headlined “Yes, Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize” and “The Signal chat’s big takeaway? Trump has built an effective team.”

Thiessen has always been an embarrassment for the Post. I could tolerate his presence before Bezos gutted the Newspaper, but he made it easier to cancel my subscription the day Bezos laid off 33% of the staff and Thiessen’s columns were going to remain.

Thanks also for including Bill Maher on the list. I stopped watching his HBO show during the pandemic when he platformed anti vax conspiracists, called for young people to just continue on as though the pandemic didn’t exist, and whined constantly about being shut in at his Hawaii home.

Is there an official line where we can all get in queue to scream at the top of our lungs?

I was missing Bret Stephens, but upon further reflection I realized that Thiessen is several notches worse.

Anchors on Business channels such as CNBC. They are mostly entirely focused on "Business" and completely ignore the legality or ethics of whatever Trump and Musk are doing.

I stopped watching CNN because of Scott Jennings.

Bridget Collins's avatar

I keep hoping someone will reach over and smack him upside the head.

With a cast iron skillet.

Smarmy, smug. . . has Scott Jennings ever been right about anything?

Good list. Still wondering why Chicago Magazine put Nick Fuentes at No. 7 on it's list of "50 Most Powerful Chicagoans." Really! Not, however, without saying "loathe him or loathe" him. Does Fuentes have a PR agent?

Steve Bannon, Alex Jones

I considered Alex Jones, but he's circling the drain right now.

Leave a special place for all the board members and CEOs of hedge funds and media companies who have run local newspapers into the ground and never tattle on themselves about how much they’ve cut news staffs and moved jobs out of town- and mask them as “creative cost controls” in quarterly earnings reports

How about the good ol' chyrons on the bottom of the news channels that are usually pro-Trump talking points/Trump propaganda messages.

Thanks for throwing Bill Maher in there. He was always an asshole, but nowadays - especially post-Covid - Bill is so all-in on being contrarian that he's laundering MAGA talking points while acting like Dems are worse because something something woke.

I'd add Josh Hammer to your excellent list. His repeated claim that domestic terrorism is almost all the province of the left wing is enough to qualify him, but he also loudly broadcasts his Islamophobia and Christian nationalism while cheerleading whatever Trump and Netanyahu cook up together. He's all over the media, but I'm forced to see his weekly excretions in my hometown newspaper, the L.A. Times.

At this point, we're beyond baskets and we're discussing tankers.

I was already in LOL territory but after reading this it's ROFLMAO all the way. My dog is thinking WTAF even if she doesn't know the words.
