There are a few journalist that right positively about the incoming opposition. You, Mark, Elias, Adam Kinziger, Rick Wilson please keep up the good work your articles give me hope and make me want to keep fighting.
Sharon, the incredible community of other journalists here on Substack and the good people who read them are a tremendous source of inspiration to me every day. They give me a lot of hope too.
The journalists we see every day on this platform are the ones that are going to fight for what we know as the United States and democracy. These journalists are not the ones who sell themselves to the orange menace thinking he will leave them alone if they’ve been the knee and obey in advance. Don’t they know by now that no matter what you do loyalty to him is a one-way street. Don’t even bother just fight and oppose at every step. If we do that this country just mayget out of these next four years in one piece.
It takes an incredible lack of spine to bend the knee to Trump as so many recently have. I'm beyond proud to stand with all the other journalists on this platform who I know in my heart of hearts would never, ever commit such an atrocity.
thank you Mark, I needed this so much this morning. working hard to manage the endless incoming, which I know is only beginning and will get much, much worse, and watching the days leading up to Inauguration Day melt away is feeling particularly suffocating today. but your list helped. thanks for all you do, your voice is so important.
Thanks, Lesley. Today when I saw Trump pushing the utterly debunked claim that vaccines cause autism, I found myself screaming at the TV set. The TV set won't forward my complaint to Trump, so I needed to get a grip. We have to play the long game, like the right wing has done so successfully in recent decades.
I, too, am dreading Inauguration Day, Lesley. It's like this pending sense of doom. We know it's coming and can't do anything to stop it other than expect the darkness. We'll all stick together and get through it. That's the only way.
No good people of either party should attend the inauguration in person nor watch on TV and change the channel if the TV is on. View is announced in the papers so we need to make a negative impact. Make the whole show paid by billionaires a waste of money and embarrassment.

Are the democrats silent? Or has mainstream media given their microphones to the party of christofacists? I feel like tv is either California forest fires (yes, they need attention) and then back to 24/7 trump-his threats to the rest of the world and Americans, his ridiculous “nominations”, the nonsensical things he says- the lowest of entertainment by our “media”. Both sides?? They seem to have completely forgotten there IS another non-trump side.
I can’t quite figure this out-am I missing something? Or is it as simple as democrats would rather do boring work for their constituents-and that is hardly entertaining.
I don't think Democrats are silent, and I don't blame them for doing what they were elected to do--legislate. The Republicans are backed by billions and billions of propaganda, and the major media has pretty much collapsed into that morass. Whatever Democrats say will be cast as 'one side'-- although it tends to be the truth countered by a Republican lie.
I also think this is buoyed up by white supremacy. Fox News has been telling a lot of people what they want to hear, and major media is SO guilty of looking for a fight to catch the eyes of their ever less attentive readers.
The COUNTRY has a big problem, and Democrats, as the largest and most powerful human rights organization in the country, will take a big role in solving it. And surely there's much we could have done better. But a corrupt and evil right wing that feeds on white supremacy and has infected the Supreme Court is the issue, to me.

ABC's capitulation to Trump is shocking. They were 100% within the bounds of 1st A protection, even this biased iteration of SCOTUS would have sustained the dismissal. I understand Disney will do anything to protect their brand, which shows the perils of for-profit "news." Yikes.
I agree with all except 'we won't believe that anyone who voted for Trump is a moderate.' I hold out the hope that many of his 2024 voters will turn against him as his dystopia unfolds and unravels.

But belatedly seeing the light doesn't mean that their votes for Trump were "moderate."
