Lying about such devastatingly consequential events such as the CA fires is definitely on-brand for a narcissistic antisocial pathological liar. With no regret or the slightest consideration for others, he wears that badge proudly. And those too dim or lazy to check facts eat it up like a TV dinner.

I've been wondering if I should speakout more to my small following. This episode gave me the answer. YES, and I will.

I have a very small following, but I choose to speak out. By just posting facts from credible sources, some have soured and discontinued following me. There are others though, that have started to pay attention to the seeds of truth I plant and shine the light upon.

An updated version of the old phone trees might be useful to some, using email, or even social media if you've got or can develop a curated list of reliable friends. I'm thinking of how this worked in a negative way in Springfield, OH: misinformation and disinformation spread along the good ol' grapevine. But it *can* work to our advantage.

The grapevine in my small-town area in MA has mostly moved to social media, but the phone and in-person communication still play a role. It doesn't take long before you realize who's reliable and whose gossip needs to be confirmed.

We somehow have to convince more people to care about the truth.

. . . and to recognize when they should be skeptical. That's the hard part. For some people it's so exciting to be the "first in the know" that they pass the info on before even thinking about checking it out.

All politicians lie. What you are really saying is that Trump lies more than most, and more outrageously. So I think the issue is how much lying is too much? How outrageous is too outrageous? Deception is simply lies in a different set of clothes. Is purposely drawing people to make a false assumption or inference any less than lying?

Clearly, tRump and the other liars have never seen the movie "Chinatown," which is all about LA's ongoing, long-running water issues.

I sometimes think that Trump’s lies are to distract us from the real causes, such as climate change. If Trump complains about Newsom wanting to protect the delta smelt or the LA Fire Chief being a DEI hire then that distracts us from the extremely dry conditions in Los Angeles and the fierce winds resulting in a firestorm. The conditions were exacerbated by climate change. But they don’t want us to talk about climate change! They don’t even acknowledge it.
