These are good and accurate sketches, but you’ve already put more thought into this process than Trump has. Or will.

All horrific choices. My main concern is that Trump's full time propaganda arm in Fox News, OAN, Newsmax and 1600 right wing radio stations make it impossible to reach the voters with facts. As a former Chicago Tribune editor (I write a weekly column for Chicago Tribune media group), do you have any suggestions on how to restrict the spread of disinformation without bringing back the Fairness Doctrine? I don't have much hope for progress on fossil fuels, guns or anything else that matters as long as the right is allowed to sell propaganda as news, and the Dominion settlement hasn't seemed to move the dial. Serious question.

I agree. This psychological warfare taking place in the minds of our fellow citizens is very disturbing and is playing a huge role in how people form their opinions. A subject that deserves a separate discussion, very complex.

The Merchants of Malarkey with their Big Lie(s) machine are so persuasive with the clueless, rudderless and hapless. One important point in all this is it's extremely well-funded. Enemies of democracy have a well crafted battle plan to take this country down with insurrectionist, traitors within.

After seeing the debacle in that black church in Detroit (with 90% white people in the audience) that Trump held over the weekend— I’d have to say that Ben Carson is a possible front-runner. Carson is a known bootlicker and he hates his own race as much as Trump does and I believe that really appeals to Trump.

We’ll see, but not too soon as Trump will milk that cow for as much publicity as can.

What's the opposite of a "deep bench"? A deep cesspool? Whatever you call it, the GOP's got it.

Don't forget General Flynn. He wants to be VP in a big way because he knows how easy it would be to have Trump declared incompetent and step into the Oval Office.

Clearly the evangelicals have done all the (ir)rationalizing they need to do to follow trump. So the next question is who do the Kochtopus oligarchs find the most useful if/when trump kicks the bucket or more likely they use A25?

All of those people are fucking awful and awfully hypocritical.

I challenge the media to come up with at least 5 common questions to ask all VP candidates. I would also challenge the media to confront candidates when their answers consist of 5 seconds in answering the question and the remaining time pivoting to a criticism of Biden.

League. Of Women Voters will do that. Not the media.

Thanks Denise. I enjoy my volunteer efforts with our League of Women Voters, registering voters, tabling, explaining electoral processes, some lobbying. LWV has an opportunity to fill the void (and to increase the presence and numbers of LWV especially at local levels).

LWV has long been my go-to for knowing candidates' true stance on issues. Not-for-media.

Dear Mark, you are being kind to these hypocritical degenerates.

They all rank at least 9 on the awfulness scale (10=worst). I guess that’s the point from tfg’s perspective. I’m surprised Ted Cruz, Tommy Tuberville and Ron Desantis aren’t on the list

Prediction: CONVICTED FELON/adjudicated RAPIST Donald Trump will choose Don Jr. as his VP running mate.

Just wait & see.

Bonkers Trump thinks he's a king. He's not going to trust anyone else for fear he'll get another Pence. He'll make Don Jr. his VP pick.

Hey Mark, me thinks Ms Blackburn has a place on this list.

Trump has said he wants the one who looks best on TV. So Kari Lake is the one, an experienced tv personality before she sidestepped into politics. She has remained steadfast in election denialism and Trumpism, narrowly losing her last election bid. All her ambitions run through Trump, so she will do as she is told. Trump needs AZ and may think she is how he can win there. So I give Lake the best odds.

It’s the names on this list, along with Cruz, Greene, Gaetz. Johnson, and more that concern me. MAGA won’t necessarily die with Trump (and I don’t mean literal death, rather defeat). It’s the entire poisonous tree that must be excised, discredited, complete with stump.

We won’t move on until Tea Party + MAGA are dealt with.

It appears to me amongst the white scum floating on top of this cesspool labeled the GOP aka Gathering of Putiners there two factors in the VP decision-making. One is how many millions of $ will they bring with them and secondly what is their loyalty rating as in how willing that person is pass thru the portal into total moral, intellectual and ethical bankruptcy. I don't think that Trumpollini is planning on winning legitimately rather he's served notice he'll go full-on strongman. His looming sentencing will be the breaking point. I don't agree with the notion that he will instigate an uprising after losing the election, I think he will play his hand(a bad one) sooner.
